We first met with Stephanie and Chris on the uber-hip Lark St. in Albany, NY. The night may have been cold, but the libations were good and keeping us warm. The company? Stellar. We must have talked to these guys for at LEAST 2 hours getting to know everything about them. But to be honest, I think we had already known during our first phone call that these guys were going to be a great fit for Nuvue. We were toying with the idea of shooting a different kind of film and were looking for a couple that would be down for our cause, and when we posed it to them they were simply “mad” about having us shoot in this new format.
This new style was to be more of a documentary edit, where we’d pull back a little on the cinematic style and pursue more of a real and not-overly-edited feel. In doing so, we thought in order to aid us in achieving this style we’d spend a few days with them, following them around with a film crew to capture the day before, as well as, the day of their wedding. It couldn’t have worked out better as we spent time with them as they went about their pre-wedding activities, leading up to the event itself. While this is the trailer, we’re greatly looking forward to the edit of their documentary-style film that will soon follow.
But I think the greatest thing that came from all of this is that we now feel more like family to them, as opposed to just their videographers for the day. Couples like Stephanie and Chris make us realize why we do what we do, and the importance of connecting with one another on such a level. Something that I think is all too often taken for granted these days.
